M5Stack
Keyboards & Input Devices
This switch sensor is designed to provide limit protection in mechanical equipment applications. Includes one 20 cm Grove cable.
Part of the M5Stack ecosystem of Grove-compatible sensor, actuator, and expansion boards, this switch sensor is designed to provide limit protection in multiple mechanical equipment applications. The digital signal is changed from 3.3 V to 0 V when the switch bar unit is activated. This change in signal acts as a limit indicator that can be utilized by microcontrollers (MCUs) or other peripheral devices. By monitoring this signal, the MCU or peripherals can detect the mechanical equipment’s limit position and respond accordingly, either by taking appropriate actions or initiating limit protection measures.
A limit unit is commonly used in mechanical systems to prevent them from exceeding their safe operating limits. When the switch bar is pressed, it signals that a specific limit has been reached, such as the end of travel, a critical position, or maximum extension. This information can be used to trigger immediate actions, including activating safety mechanisms, stopping the equipment, or sending alerts.
