Part of the M5Stack ecosystem of Grove-compatible sensor, actuator, and expansion boards, this Earth soil moisture sensor is designed to measure the content in soil or similar materials. This sensor consists of two measurement probes that are inserted into the soil being tested. The conductivity of the soil improves as the moisture content increases. The sensor will provide moisture readings by measuring the potential difference between the two probes and performing
analog-to-digital conversion (ADC).
The Earth unit has a 10 k adjustable resistor, which is used to calibrate the detection threshold. This allows you to fine-tune the sensor’s sensitivity to match your specific requirements.
You can monitor and analyze the moisture levels in soil, enabling efficient irrigation and plant care by using this earth unit. M5Core or other microcontrollers can be integrated with this sensor to receive the moisture readings and perform further analysis based on moisture data.
