Valtrack V4 is a low cost GPS tracking device which supports globally available 4G-LTE-CAT1 networks, making vehicle tracking accessible without compromising on connectivity and performance. Valtrack V4 supports direct connection to a vehicle’s battery and backup battery for emergency uses.
This device can be used for tracking two-wheelers, four-wheelers and any other mobile equipment. Know the real time location of the vehicle, aid in prevention of theft, and recover it with the help of the on-board motion sensor. Valtrack V4 can be customized to send alerts when movement is detected, and since it logs data continuously to the server, you can know the route the vehicle has traveled.
Powered by the ESP32-C3FH4 chipset, Valtrack V4 offers efficient processing and low power consumption while supporting real-time tracking and data logging. To optimize power efficiency, the device utilizes deep sleep modes, ensuring extended battery life in low-power scenarios.
Additionally, we leverage the ESP32-C3’s Bluetooth capabilities for wireless device configuration, making setup and customization seamless via the Valtrack Setup Flutter app.
Valtrack V4 supports sending data via HTTP or MQTT to any server of the user’s choice. This ensures no vendor lock-in and complete data privacy, allowing users full control over their data and enabling easy integration with their preferred servers.
You can easily point the device to your server using the Mobile phone app using bluetooth. Just select the working mode, HTTP or MQTT and set the HTTP URL or the MQTT host and port numbers and you are good to go.
Users can select and use any SIM card of their preference with Valtrack V4, providing flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and independence from proprietary network restrictions.
With a built-in GNSS patch antenna and support for external GNSS active antennas, Valtrack V4 ensures accurate location tracking in various conditions.
You can choose from a device with internal antenna support or external antenna support. The external antenna supported device comes with an SMA connector cutout in the enclosure as shown below for comparison.
Program and customize Valtrack V4 easily via its Micro USB port using VS Code and ESP-IDF, Espressif’s official IoT Development Framework for ESP32, enabling developers to create custom tracking solutions. Once you connect the device to your laptop the device appears as a COM port and you can use the normal flashing process in VSCode or Arduino.
You can configure the server URL and MQTT host of your choice in firmware by modifying a single structure,
The device shows live debug logs on the serial monitor which make it easy to monitor whats happening in the code. The parameters like Network connection status, Packet queue indexes, Accelerometer interrupt status, Switch status, System run timer, Motion elapsed timer are updated every second. You can also see the communication happening between the MCU and the cellular modem using the live AT command logs appearing in the serial monitor as shown below.
Designed for automotive integration, Valtrack V4 connects directly to a vehicle’s battery while also supporting a backup battery for uninterrupted operation in emergency situations.
Valtrack V4 also features a main battery disconnection system when idle. This means you don’t need to wire the device to the vehicle’s ignition line—simply connect it directly to the vehicle battery. The device will automatically switch to internal battery power and enter deep sleep modes, drawing negligible power from the vehicle. This helps avoid tampering with the ignition system, which could otherwise void the vehicle’s warranty.
Use Valtrack V4 to track two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and mobile equipment in real time. The onboard motion sensor helps prevent theft and assists in recovery by detecting unauthorized movement.
Valtrack V4 features an onboard LIS3DH accelerometer, a 12-bit 3-axis motion sensor, to detect even subtle movements. When motion is detected, the device can trigger alerts and log activity to help prevent theft. To conserve energy, the device enters deep sleep mode during periods of inactivity and is automatically awakened when movement is sensed, significantly extending battery life while maintaining situational awareness.
The device can be configured to send movement alerts and log data continuously to a server, allowing users to monitor travel history and improve fleet management.
You can send data to your own server and save location data and view it, One of our device sent to Vietnam has been configured to send data to Open source Traccar platform and it works seamlessly. Here is a screen shot of VALTRACK-V4 being tracked using Traccar.
Compared to other tracking devices in the market, Valtrack V4 stands out with its dual power input options, Bluetooth-enabled configuration, and integration of the ESP32-C3 microcontroller, offering a balance between performance and power efficiency.
